Character Name;; Aphrodite
Gender;; Mare
Alliance;; Instigator (Pure Unicorns)
Age;; Since Unicorns are immortal, I'd put that. But, maturity-wise, I'd say around five to six.
Color;; White
Personality;; Aphrodite is just what her name is known for: The Goddess of Love. She is highly romantic, searching for a love she cannot find. On the norm, a single red rose is intwined in her mane, to prove the symbol of love. Incredibly quiet, yet strong beyond compare, this female is normally standing off by herself. She's soft-spoken, but when she fights for something she believes in, her voice usually drifts for miles. Aphrodite fights hard for things she believes in, and never gives up. She's also very kind, and polite to the fullest due to her mother's constant nagging of it. But, unlike most mares, she's not a robot who replies with a 'Yes, lord,' and 'No, my titan.' If she has an answer, she'll explain it. She, also, isn't a delicate flower who can't fight for herself. If she gets angry, she gets angry. And by then, no one can stop her. Rarely, if you know her, does this mare stay quiet, she's normally talking to the recipient. But, most can find her voice dosen't get annoying. One will also find her friendship is true. She may be acquainted with many, but she only keeps good friends close to her heart. The only thing she fears is being betrayed by one of them. That, to her, would be a true heartbreak. Aphrodite is a sweetheart, in conclusion, and kind, yet outgoing, soft-spoken, yet a believer. And that, my dear friends, makes up the Goddess of Love.
History;; Aphrodite came from a long, long line of respected unicorns. Her great-grandfather was Demetrius III, who took the life of a murderous dragon and claimed the dragon's peak as his. Deme took his Queen, and his mate, Circe, and together they had Aphrodite's grandfather, Imperius. Imperius grew up on the same lands where the murderous dragon was slain, for five years, until he went for a journey. He came back with his mate, Remia, and their wobbily-leggged colt, Titus. Titus grew up, as well, and went out, like his father before him, to search for a mate. He returned with Sephura, and together they made Aphrodite.
The foal was born on a cool Autumn day in the lands that Titus's ever-present grandfather had claimed and still ruled. The foal was a brilliant white, with only a darker muzzle. A small nub in the very center of her head proved her unicorn horn that was awaiting the day to poke through and become one with her skull. She was akward and tall, with long legs. She was taller than most, even though she was lean and her body frame was thin. Her mane was curly, but not as curly as most fillies' manes. Her's had a slightly straighter look, though it was wavy, and stuck akwardly, straight out. Her eyes were huge, and they bulged out, protruding from her face. Her ears were long and fuzzy, and often flopped over. She was bony, long, and akward. Even more so than other foals. And, because of humor, Sephura and Titus named their filly Aphrodite. Despite her looks, they loved her, and that was all a young unicorn could ask for.
After the first couple of days, Aphrodite met a few foals. She made friends with a young bay filly (Deme did allow colored unicorns, as well) named Paze. Her parents came from the North, and were old friends of Aphrodite's parents. After a few more days, the filly ventured to colts. All the white colts, for there were no colored foals, were in awe of Paze, for never before had they seen a colored unicorn. The flirting, for Paze, had begun. She had always complained to Aphrodite that she hated her color, and wanted to be the same. But she'd won the approval of those three curly-tailed white colts, and she then appreciated her color from then on out. She literally strutted her stuff around the area, which made Aphrodite envious. But Paze, oblivious, flaunted what she had.
After the 'tragic' incident, as Aphrodite later recalls, she didn't talk to Paze that much. She didn't talk to anyone that much. And as time progressed to a year, shyness and lonliness ate her normally outgoing personality and made her a hermit. When Aphrodite became a year, her parents got into a big fight with Deme, and were banned from the lands. The only one who wasn't banned was Aphrodite. Nevertheless, she went with the family that knw she loved her, and left her grand-family far behind. Deme cursed the family, willing their misfortune. And the Lesser Gods replied. The trio of unicorns traveled for about a month, Sephura about 4 months into pregnancy, when Sephura passed out. Titus, alarmed, bent down to see what was the matter. Sephura groaned and shifted, and Aphrodite, slightly scared, fled for the forest surrounding. After a few minutes, Titus tore through the forest, yelling at Aphrodite to stay with Sephura, that he'd be back in a flash.
Aphrodite raced to her mother's side. The elegant female coughed and spluttered, looking around wildly. "T-take th-the r-rose in my mane." she said, referring to the red rose that picked her out from the rest. Aphrodite did so. "Lie it in front o-of me." Aphrodite did as she was told. The ruby red rose lied on the ground. Suddenly, with a pop, another identical one appeared next to it. "Aphrodite, my daughter, take the rose I had and put it in your mane, and, before I tell you more, and please, put the new one in mine." Aphrodite, who'd learned not to question her mother, did so. "Aphrodite, t-the baby i-is a demon. I can feel it. The Devil chose to plague me, and the Devil's Son yearns to leave my soul now. I am trying to hold him in a-as long as I can, but I fear I cannot any longer. I sent your father for help. By the time he returns, the baby will be gone. T-the Gods told me of your father's future plans for you. A crime we wishes not to commit. I need you to run, Aphrodite. Run and never...look..." Her mother sputtered, then shreiked, and began to tremble. Aphrodite, scared, bolted. She bolted down the narrow dirt road, and, five minutes later, she turned to see a black shape with leather wings flying from her mother's limp cadaver.
After many days of grief, Aphrodite mourned her mother's death. Once, only once, the yearling spoke with her mother for about an hour in the placid lake. Her mother said heaven was wonderful, and she was meant to be there. She said there weren't too many unicorns there, for unicorns are immortal, but only the special ones are to live with the gods. Aphrodite told her mother she could feel the horn beginning it's route to the outside world, and Sephura agreed witjh the unicorns that surrounded her that it would be an incredibly painful process, but it'd be worth it. After her mother disappeared from the mirror-view of the lake, Aphrodite stood by the lake for a long time, crying silently until there were no more tears to cry. She stifled her sobs and left.
Two years later, her mother contacted her again. The horn, now half protruding from her head, was glowing slightly. They talked for many days, until Aphrodite heard an alarming noise. First she smelled him, and then she heard him. His breathing was raspy, and Aphrodite knew he'd been lurking for a good ten minutes. Jumping up, the filly looked at her younger brother with scorn. He, who killed her mother. Their mother. A growl escaped her, and Sephura left the pool and insead took her seat among the clouds to watch her pure and tainted offspring at their first meeting.
Aphodite noted that the demon, who held a long, spiraled, steel horn and big, black feathered wings, was jet black. His eyes were an unpure red, and bloodshot beyond belief. He was far taller than his sibling, even though he was a mere yearling. Without a warning, he charged forward, and Aphrodite had no time to react. Upon wings of leather he swiftly flew toward his sister and pierced her chest with his odd horn. Aphrodite staggered backward, crimson blood staining her coat. Her brother yanked his head free, in the process snapping the horn, and let out a triumphant roar as he saw the pain in Aphrodite's eyes. Aphrodite was about to give up. The thought of a true haven with her mother was appealing. But, defeating her evil brother was even more so. Aphrodite, who had sank to her knees, plunged upward upon the breath of invisible force. With a roar, she reared over her brother and hit him in the chest with a hollow thump. With force beyond imagine, the tainted unicorn flew backward. His wings were held down by the wind, and he couldn't snap them open. It was then Aphrodite knew her mother was on her side. Over a cliff her sibling fell, and Aphrodite staggered off, in search of help.
With the blood pouring profusely, it was hard to imagine how she made it four miles on foot. But, alas, she found the lands she was searching for. An old, abandoned elfen land, now a thriving unicorn community. They accecpted her with both glee and worry. They lied her down for many days until their healer was available. And then, he came. It'd been fourteen days since the small battle, but Elder, as he was called, was able to heal it. Two days later, Aphrodite was walking. She walked around their lands, getting anxious and suspicious stares from unicorns, whether they were foals or elders. The scar was an ugly one, that consisted of a strange 'A' pattern. It was the only way Elder could patch it up. Aphrodite was told, by the leader, Meryo, that she should stay for at least a month, if not more, to heal. Aphrodite insisted only a week was fine. So, she lived there for a week. Four days into the week, a young black unicorn approached her. Shyly, he bent his head, offering peace. And then, he walked forward.
"My mistress, it has been never that Aris was defeated. Never before has he been hit. Touched. You mentioned the black, winged Unicorn, and I put two and two together...and I'd like to know two things. How did you accomplish it, and will you take me on your travels?" Aphrodite was slightly confused by the question, until she realized he was talking about her brother. She replied with a smile. "Well...he's my-" she paused, knowing it not wise to tell him. "He's an old friend. And I'd allow you on my travels, sire, but I fear you lacked on giving yourself a title."
[/b] She smiled playfully, flicking her tail. Shyly, she added, "I'd like to know." The young black's chest swelled slightly. "Oh. Yes, right. My name, my mistress, is Echo, while I'm at it, I'll inform you I've been on this earth for four years. And I would be honored if you took me on your travels, lady..." He paused. "Aphrodite," she said, smiling quickly. "It's Aphrodite."Gender;; Mare

Three days later, Echo and Aphrodite were off. They stayed together for two years. But that's jumping ahead. A year later, Aphrodite stopped growing. her horn was held high, and her muscles, not at all bulged, lied beneath her snow-white pelt. Her mane was beautiful, long and straight, and in it lied a red rose. A red rose that never died. Echo had asked her a question that ended their friendship and sent them parting ways. And it was better off, too. Aphrodite had remained a traveler for another year until she came upon the Lands of Aragetten. But that, my friends, is another story.
((If anyone wants to play her long lost friend, Paze, or the unicorn Echo who 'asked' her to be his mate, PM me. I'd love for you to play them. They're Mini-Plot characters. :-D))

Picture;; -in progress-
Description;; Unlike when she was younger, Aphrodite turned into quite a pretty mare. Her pelt is the hue of the crisp snow that has freshly fallen in the climax of Winter. Her head is finely shaped, as if shaped from a Greek Sculptor, and in proportion with her body. Her eyes aren't too big, and aren't too small, and glint of a light hazel hue that is a rare color for Unicorns. Her ears aren't long at all, as they once were, but are now smaller and constantly pricked. Her horn is a great ivorn spiral that ends in a pointed tip; it glows when extreme emotions or excitement occur. Her boa is constantly curved, delicately arched like a gateway. Her mane flutters gently on the breeze, and is fairly long and healthy. Her body is muscled, but not too much, and shimmers constantly. Her legs are long and ends in darker colors of black, but it's only excess markings. Her tail is long and wispy, and if often held high in pride. This maiden always keeps a red rose in her mane. If, by chance, someone breaks or ruins it, it's a terrible price to pay. Aphrodite is also known as pretty. And she is. But she's not exceptional. Like every mare, Aphrodite has something pretty about her, and, for her, it's two; Her personality, and her flower.
